The students & staff of CEC recently held a school jersey day to celebrate the beginning of the European Football championships & to raise funds for the Irish Red Cross. Between their raffle, bake sale & a donation from the school a total amount of €500 was raised!
There was a wealth of different countries, jerseys & sports represented from Colombia to Cork GAA, McClaren F1 to Manchester United, and Real Betis to Ireland Rugby! Amongst the raffle prizes were a Cork jersey and some very trendy Cork t-shirts, with Yenny from Colombia, Aleksandr of Russia, and CEC teacher Ciara the lucky winners.
Remarking on the day CEC’s Marketing Manager Sonny had this to say; “Anyone who knows me, knows I am a massive football nerd so I wouldn’t class organising the jersey day as work! But we were really happy to mark the Euros and more importantly raise funds for the vital work the Red Cross is undertaking in Palestine. We had some very generous donations from both students & staff, something we can’t thank them enough for.”
With the busy Summer period approaching the CEC Team will be planning a range of similar international days & fundraising events!
