At International House Newcastle, we are dedicated to making English language provision accessible to everyone, especially those who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Through strategic partnerships with both local and nationwide organisations and charities, we are helping to create opportunities for all.
One of our key partnerships is with Refu-Aid, an organisation committed to helping refugees access higher education. Together, we sponsor students in our Academic English courses enabling them to pursue higher education in the UK. It’s very rewarding to see our students enter university here and continue the career they had to abandon in their own countries.
In honour of a beloved friend and colleague, the late Philip Harmer, we've established a scholarship in his name. This scholarship aims to focus on individuals by supporting them in their English language training and beyond. We have recently sponsored an inspiring Syrian woman who dreams of becoming a practicing doctor in the UK. We are very proud to see our Ukrainian student Inna now working full time as a teacher in a local school
Our latest project is working with Newcastle Council providing courses for refugees based here in Newcastle. We currently have young people from Syria, Ukraine, Somalia, Vietnam and DR Congo. Watching them develop both linguistically and emotionally has been so rewarding
At International House Newcastle, we are committed to helping students from all backgrounds to achieve their goals.
