It has been a very busy few months for CELT and it’s great to share their successes.
CELT was recently chosen to work on the PRELIM (partnered remote language improvement) project. This is a partnership undertaken with the British Council, IATEFL and English UK to deliver an online English language improvement programme running between January and March 2021.
The school is really excited to have been matched with CABITA, the Cameroon Bilingual Letters Teachers’ Association, with whom they will be working to create a programme to upskill their members. CELT is particularly excited to be delivering to a country which is completely new to them and to learn about Cameroon’s teaching context. Like the other schools selected to work on the PRELIM project, including a number of Quality English friends, CELT will be beneffiting from an online Community of Practice in which they will be documenting the project and sharing ideas for working with countries with very different infrastructures and understanding of what online learning and teaching are about.
Also noteworthy is how the school has expanded their range of online courses to include two further self-study Medical English courses, English for Nurses and English for Doctors. Both courses are designed to develop the medical language skills for international healthcare professionals and are great for students who need to develop these skills before taking the Occupational English Test (OET).
And CELT has exciting OET news too! The school recently became an OET Premium Provider All Star, recognising the free resources they offer to OET candidates around the world. This involves a regular livestream class on Facebook by one of their OET team to a group of up to 500 students. A new experience for them and proof of CELT’s expertise as an online provider.
