Millfield English Language Holiday Courses understand the importance of delivering an engaging learning experience suitable for each student's individual ability, which is why they offer a range of academic options for students to choose from. For 2022 they have developed their range of academic options even further, with a brand-new course at each of their campuses.
At Glastonbury Campus, students aged 9-11 can choose from General English or the new option of Academic Explorers. In Academic Explorers students can develop their language learning skills by studying specific subjects such as history, geography, environmental sustainability, science, maths, English literature and creative writing, focusing on developing the language (vocabulary and grammar) they need to study subjects in English at school. The course will also include skills development in areas such as critical thinking and presentation skills. Students aged 6-8 are also welcomed at Glastonbury Campus to study General English.
At Street Campus, alongside options of General English, Global Young Leaders and Cambridge Assessment English, students aged 12-17 are now offered Academic English, a course designed to prepare students for academic study in an English-speaking education setting. Students will develop their English language skills through subject based lessons in line with the KS3/KS4 curriculum such as maths, English, geography, history and the sciences. They will also improve their academic study skills in key areas such as critical thinking, note-taking, time management, presentation skills, essay writing and reading skills. Students at Street Campus can further their English by choosing the English Workshops afternoon option to add an extra 8 hours per week to their English studies.
