Lewis School of English is expanding its range of live online courses for junior students aged 11+. New project-based courses in film, business and culture are offered alongside General English and conversation classes, providing a rich choice of programmes for the school’s online summer camp, which starts on 6 July.
English & Film guides students through the process of filmmaking - from scriptwriting to editing - with each week culminating in an exciting mini-project. It’s aimed at creative students aged 13+, and no previous experience is required. Students learn practical filmmaking tips and develop the necessary language to create, describe and discuss their masterpieces!
English & Culture (ages 13+) explores all things typically British – from drinking tea to the Beatles! Stereotypes, quirky festivals and virtual museum tours all form part of this engaging course, with related language skills taught throughout. Students also share aspects of their own culture, and in doing so, learn about the countries of each of their classmates.
Young Entrepreneurs (ages 13+) is for ambitious students who relish a challenge. Students are guided through business-related project work, developing language skills, soft skills and practical knowledge along the way. Teamwork, leadership and problem-solving are key as students set about tasks such as launching a new product, devising a business plan or making a sales pitch.
Other courses include General English (ages 13+), English for Young Explorers, which is aimed at a younger audience aged 11+, and a once-a-week Conversation Class.
All courses are tutor-led and feature live lessons on Zoom and access to an online self-study area. Students will also take part in an online social activities programme, providing yet more opportunity to practise the language and make friends from around the world.
