CELT has been busy using its experience and expertise to create new courses delivered in new ways for teachers around the world.
Building on the success of a similar project in 2021, CELT is currently developing new projects for teachers in Vietnam and Guinea Bissau. It is also working with the British Council to write and deliver webinars for teachers in Armenia and Georgia plus is about to begin delivery of a CLIL programme for a vocational college in the United Arab Emirates.
These projects build on CELT’s success on the 2021 British Council PRELIM project, a joint initiative with IATEFL and English UK. PRELIM was established to develop the English teaching confidence levels of teachers in official development assistance countries around the world and was a huge success. As one teacher said: "This course made me new. It was such an inspiring and great experience".
In 2021, CELT also delivered online webinars for Macmillan, Hueber in Germany, as well as a series of very successful sessions for the Gallery Teachers’ Masterclass series.
“We are delivering cutting edge content often using resources like WhatsApp to reach a whole new group of teachers around the world” commented Neil Harris, who is in charge of teachers’ courses at CELT. “We have learned so much and are keen to share this with other teachers.”
CELT has established itself as an excellent provider of teachers’ courses online and face-to-face and is keen to grow this area of its work in 2022 and beyond, with help from agents who promote teachers’ courses in the UK and overseas, particularly for closed groups.
