On Sunday 9th February, Quality English and BELTA hosted a special ceremony in Sao Paolo to present scholarships to 14 teachers from across the country. The event was the culmination of a six- month competition in which the teachers had to submit essays on how the opportunity to learn English overseas would enhance their lives and careers. The lucky winners came together and were presented with their certificates by the generous QE schools.
Speaking about the event, QE Chief Executive, Jonathan Swindell said, “We have been working closely with Maura, Mariglan and their team at BELTA to bring this project together for almost a year. The idea was to offer a life-changing opportunity to teachers across Brazil who might not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience overseas study. The response was huge and we had a hard task choosing the winners. We hope that they will have a fantastic time at their QE school and return to work full of new ideas and skills. Thank you to the whole team at BELTA for being so professional and committed to this fantastic project, and to the QE schools for their generosity”.
Maura Leao, President of BELTA, added, “The emotion we all felt seeing the shine in all teacher’s eyes when receiving their scholarships , is hard to describe. They were genuinely happy. Actually, we all were too. QE and Belta joined forces and QE schools were greatly generous to be on board of this project giving 14 scholarships to English teachers from Public Schools . They teach mostly underprivileged students. Our minds and souls were deeply touched. We have a great reason to keep doing what we do: promote intercultural Education across borders. Thank you very much, QE and schools.”
The following day, QE hosted a successful agent workshop with 20 local agents. These included both BELTA and Quality English accredited agents who had the opportunity to meet with the 16 Quality English Schools and Quality Education Colleges who had travelled to Sao Paolo to introduce them to their schools.
