Students from Cork English College paid a visit to the Jameson Whiskey Distillery recently for the first time in over two years. Located in the town of Midleton just 30 minutes east of Cork City, the Distillery is home to the world-famous Jameson Irish Whiskey.
The students got a tour of the historic distillery, learning all about traditional and contemporary methods of whiskey making. The tour even included a whiskey tasting experience, with everyone getting a complementary glass of Jameson & Ginger Ale at the end of the tour.
An interesting Irish cultural fact for you, the word for Whiskey in Irish is “uisce beata” which literally translates as “the water of life!”
