The Lewis School of English has created a new video highlighting the fun, friendship and learning that students experience at its Southampton Junior Centre. This can be viewed at https://youtu.be/Zr_CA3_C5Ko.
The programme runs from 23 June to 4 August 2024 and is based at Lewis’s main school in the centre of Southampton (the city famous for the Titanic), on England’s south coast. It’s open to all students aged 11-17 - both groups and individuals – and provides homestay accommodation with local, personally selected hosts.
This fast-paced, 2-minute video is an ideal introduction for agents, students and parents as it covers every aspect of the programme, from lessons to boat trips along Southampton’s waterfront, and from trip destinations to dinner and breakfast with a homestay host.
The school is located right in the city centre, opposite a beautiful park and with excellent facilities close at hand – sports events take place in a fabulous university sports hall, lunch is at local, privately-owned restaurant and each week begins with a museum visit, often followed by a treasure hunt around the medieval Old Town or Southampton’s hugely popular shopping centre.
Weekly full-day and half-day trips includes London, Oxford, Bath, Winchester and the New Forest National Park with its free-roaming ponies. Trips link closely with the academic programme, ensuring an integrated learning experience that students find motivating and highly relevant to their stay.
In addition to the Southampton Centre, Lewis provides a residential junior summer centre at the nearby University of Winchester. Its Southampton and Winchester centres are also available year-round for junior groups.
