Discovery Summer Benenden

This prestigious, traditional school is situated in 250 acres of beautiful parkland in Kent. It is a magnificent, safe campus, just an hour from the seaside, with outstanding facilities. Benenden village, within walking distance, is quintessentially English with a cricket green, ancient church and village shop.

The outstanding sporting facilities include an impressive indoor 25m 6-lane swimming pool, a first-rate sports hall, a dance studio, a modern gym, all-weather astro, a 400-metre athletics track, football pitches and 11 tennis courts. There is also a 500-seat theatre, state-of-the-art music hall and drama studio.

 Accommodation and supervision

• Accommodation in traditional boarding houses with bedrooms of 2 - 6 beds, shared bathrooms
• 3 meals a day
• Staff: student ratio at least 1:4

 Teaching programme:

• 20 hours’ English tuition per week including English Skills, English Workshops, end-of-week presentations
• Trinity Exam in Spoken English (optional and at extra cost)

 Activity programme:

• Wide choice of afternoon activities including sports, arts & crafts, drama, nature walks
• Evening activities include team challenges, quiz nights, mystery shows, talent shows, traditional British games, discos and relaxed nights in houses
• Special events: Pool parties
• 2 excursions each week e.g. London, Chessington World of Adventures / Zoo, Margate (seaside), Leeds Castle
• Benenden Young Learners and Teens have some joint social activities where brothers/sisters/friends can meet
• PLUS: Lots of opportunities to practise English with our English Student Hosts

• Optional extras: Professional group instruction in Trampoline, Horseriding and Tennis (2 sessions per week)
