Discovery Summer Winchester - Summer Centre

Founded in 1382, Winchester College is one of Britain’s leading independent schools.
Located a short walk from the bustling high street, the campus, with its medieval buildings and courtyards, offers a tranquil environment with extensive grounds and outstanding facilities.

In 2024 we will be offering 3 courses at Winchester:
English & Multi-Activity (13-16 year olds)
Global Young Leaders (13-16 year olds)
Pre-University (15-17 year olds)

All programmes run for 2-4 weeks from 5 July – 2 August 2024 and include:
• Accommodation in comfortable boarding houses with 1-6 beds per room
• 3 meals a day
• Choice of afternoon activities - sports, fitness, art & design, drama
• Evening activities - exciting range of entertainments and special events
• 2 excursions per week e.g. London, Oxford, Thorpe Park, Bristol, trips to the seaside
English Student Hosts’ of your age take part in the courses so you make friends with English speakers of your own age
• Free airport transfers from/to Heathrow

English & Multi-Activity (13-16 years)
• An exciting programme for teens who want to build confidence in English
• For students of elementary to advanced level
• 21 hours’ tuition per week including English Skills, English Workshops and end-of-week presentations
• Cultural study visits with your teacher
• Optional exam: Trinity Graded Exam in Spoken English (at extra cost).

Global Young Leaders (13-16 years)
• A stimulating programme for future young leaders
• For students of an intermediate to advanced level
• 21 hours’ tuition per week including English, STEM, Young Entrepreneur and Presentation Skills
• Cultural study visits with your teacher

Pre-University (15-17 years)
• A challenging programme for advanced level students (upper intermediate to proficiency) to help prepare for future university and career choices.
• 22.5 hours' tuition per week including Majors, Minors, weekly Masterclasses and end-of-week presentation
• Select one Major and one Minor per week
• Majors: Economics & Business, IELTS/Academic English, International Relations, Advanced STEM, Film Making, Technology & AI
• Minors: Business Studies, GenAI, Film Making, Debate, Digital Photography, STEM, IELTS Speaking & Listening, Cultural English, Philosophy, Politics/Model UN
• Elective Masterclasses: Develop analytical thinking skills, engage in discussions at a pre-university level
• Optional Exam: IELTS (at extra cost)
